$72,000 fine for no license

https://www.facebook.com/DJArthurLoans/posts/574196129632039

homeowner made $108,000 a year from airbnb in vegas only to be fined $72,000 by the city of Las Vegas. at issue is the silly rule that you have to be 660ft from each other or 1 block from the next listing.

rule is out of place because hotels can be side by side. hosts are forced to follow rules of hotels but the opposite doesnt work in reverse. its BS. id take the city to court on principal.

resort fees are up to $45/day plus tax and visitors want options.

I wonder about the rationale behind such an arbitrary number (660ft).  Perhaps that is what 'they' consider a good enough distance for each Airbnb  'turf'  to not come in direct conflict with one another, for guest will be reluctant to walk that far and switch hosts too easily.

Perhaps who came up with this 'marvelous' idea was a historian of sorts and was thinking of 12th century England when fiefdoms were the rage, and each was governed by a 'feudal lord'.

Could 'Feudal Lord' be yet a new Airbnb future category?  Why not?

Dont worry, when the economy falls and they need more sales taxes they will be begging for more Airbnb to help them. Disney dont let them do this, now the parks are filled up!

I'm more interested in the avg rate per night idea single house can make $100k. Hotel rates are fairly competitive in LV unless something big is happening.
