Brussels legislation

Hello,

I have a question about brussels legislation : do we have to declare our income and how much are we going to be taxed?

Thank you in advance,

Regards,

Dorothée

Hi Dorothée,

I just received (in Dutch) the whole new Brussels' legislation. I decided to quit my AirBnB account due to this new restrictif legislation...as always Europe is making things difficult for people who just try to sustain the new types of economy. I just rented my room a couple of times a month and now I have to comply to regulations as if I was a hotel chain...I give you the link (in Dutch).

Wishing you all the luck,

Peter

Hi Peter, same here - i decided to quit my hosting due to this new reglament. I had couple of guests only in 2016 but after the law has been apparently launched.

I have a question to you - how did you manage completely delist your listing? as i still can see it on kidn fo search option?

Are you still going to declare 2016 guests?

thanks

Hello Dorothée.

Yes, you have to declare your income. There is a very clear paper written by Ernst & Young for Airbnb hosts on the Airbnb site.

Try these links:

http://assets.airbnb.com/eyguidance/fr_general.pdf (for the Ernst & Young document)

https://fr.airbnb.be/help/responsible-hosting (for the general Airbnb information on taxes and rules).

Good luck,
