waiving cancellation fee for part of the period

I have a tentative booking for 2 weeks but as they are coming to be at the birth of their grandchild, it may be that they need 7 days or less. I am happy to waive the cancellation fee for the second week if the booking becomes unnecessary, but wish to maintain the cancellation policy on the first week. How do I set this up?

What is a tentative booking? Does it mean they have booked and confirmed or it's just an enquiry?

whicher is the case you ca n ask them to book whatever dates suit them and then either extend the booking or change the dates.

Cancellation by either party is the worst option you can choose
