temporary hosting

Hi act as a host for my next door neighbors when they are away on holidays.  I only do this for a couple weeks a year.  While I am not hosting I would really like to NOT get emails and notifications in my email inbox.  I have gone to email preferences and turned all of these off, so I don't think I shoud keep receiveing messages (my neighbours are also getting these messages and they are home and are responding to them, I'm not on duty!).  But somehow, I still get lots of emails.

Any suggestions?

As far as I understand it the only way to stop getting the emails is to ask your neighbours to remove you as a go-host for periods when they're at home.
