What type of policy should I have to address an impending hurricane?

As a 'newbie' to AIRBNB, I am unsure how to handle storms. We live in a hurricane prone area. If we have hurricane watches/warnings and reservations for those dates, do I cancel? Will I be penalized for canceling?
