Security Deposit - same guest multiple reservations

I have a potential guest who is interested in booking multiple visits and is wondering how the security deposit is handled.  Will the security deposit be added to each reservation or can it transfer to subsequent reservations?

The security deposit is not paid or collected in the first place.  It is only an authorisation to airbnb to collect in case of claims.

I have this same situation. Is Marit's answer also true about the reservation cost? Is it that Airbnb is only authorized to make the charge but doesn't do it until the reservation date happens? Thanks.

The reservation cost is charged on the day of booking and released to the host the day after arrival.  It is one of the ways arbnb is making their money.
