Refund policy?

Hi,

I am new to hosting and a guest recently cancelled their booking. I got a mail from Airbnb saying that they will apply the adjust of the negative amount to my account. What does this mean? Will Airbnb take the booking amount from me?? Or they just will not pay me anything? I thought that they would deduct their fees from the guest and give me nothing. Is this correct? Can someone please clarify? Thank you.

Yes, depending on your cancellation policy and when they cancelled, you just won't receive anything. It is worded that way because as soon as the reservation is made the amount is listed in your account as pending or expected revenue or something like that so they are adjusting that. If you have the most lenient cancellation policy and they cancel with less than 24 hours before their arrival date you will get the 1st days dues. There are other options in your settings where you can choose a stricter policy where you get to keep half of the dues.
