Hi @Susan612 and welcome to the Community Center. I just created a new Topic out of your post and moved it to Help.

To your question: yes and no, because it depends what you do and also what the person is doing when replying.

You can do the following to not miss notifications of you post: 

1. Check the box to get notification when someone replies, you'll see this underneath the textfield when posting a message.

2. You can follow your own conversation by clicking the button on the left "follow this conversation"

and then you also receive notifications when someon taggs you. By using the @ when replying.
