Need to change booking

My room was booked for two guests.  Now the person who booked doesn't know if she will be coming and we need to change to the second guest being the person who books the room. How do we do that?

@Mary1043  The original guest needs to cancel and the new guest needs to request a reservation.  If you have IB and want to avoid someone else booking while these guests get their act together, you could turn off the IB temporarily.

Correct. You NEVER cancel on your end. Some will ask you to do it to avoid the cancellation fee. Either way, it's a bad idea and you'll get stuck with the demerit from Airbnb which will impact your rating.

If someone wants to back out, they need to cancel and the onus is on the other person to decide to book or not book under their own name. And don't hold the room for more than a few days. It's not fair to you and the other person might back out or worse - not qualify via ID or credit card verification.
