Contact preferences

I am a host and a guest. I have to be able to get messages if there's a problem with my rental. I do not want to be contacted at 3 am and again at 8 am reminding me to review my last stay. There is no separate preference for shutting off review request notifications.
It's important that I'm a responsible host, but I need sleep, especially when I'm traveling. What to do?

I signed on now to complain about the same thing. I want to get notifications on my phone, but I do NOT want to be woken up at 4am with a reminder to write a review of the guest who left just yesterday.

To be clear, I DO want to get notifications at ANY hour when a guest is booking or making an inquiry. But it is just ridiculous for airbnb to wake me up in the middle of the night with ordinary reminders. PS - I am a very active host and I don't really need any of these reminders. How can I make that stop?

You either take all the messages to your phone or you take none of the messages.

Wrong, Mike.

This is a problem that Airbnb can fix. The system can be configured to send me ordinary, non-urgent messages only during the hours that are considered waking hours in my time zone. It's not too much to ask of airbnb that they do this.

That way, the only messages I receive at night will be truly urgent ones, new bookings and inquires from potential guests.

Again, you're not being helpful. But at least you were not as gratuitously mean to me as you were to the woman who started this thread. Might I suggest that if you don't have anything worthwhile to add, you just stay out of the conversation?

You don't get to decide if I am helpful or not to someone else.  You only get to decide if I am helpful to YOU, but I was not trying to be helpful to YOU.  So I win.

I was polite before, but that didn't work. So how about this? Your comments are rude and annoying and I am thoroughly qualified to declare that they are unhelpful since they are objectively nothing more than puerile one-liners that probably give you a chuckle but offer nothing useful to anyone else.

With the technology available, it's not impossible to separate contact preferences. If we don' t tell them it's important, it won't change. 

It's also possible that there is a preference and we just don't know how to find it.
