Why do airbnb add cleaning fees to my price

I have a situation where airbnb have added €26 to my price. The guest cancelled and we have to refund the guest and airbnb will refund the other half, MINUS the cleaning fee. This is So wrong and we ahre de-listing as a result

@Gwen--With-Des-0 If a guest doesn't check in, they are never charged the cleaning fee. Are you sure it's not the booking fee that wasn't refunded? Typically if they're outside the 48-hour free cancellation window, they would not have the booking fee refunded.
