AirBnB hosts selling hotel rooms that they don't own.

Hello all, I work at a hotel and I got a strange call at the front desk inquiring about our weekly rates for our "AirBnB" listing. Our hotel (I work at a franchised Holiday Inn.) certainly doesn't list any rooms on AirBnB, and the "host" wasn't anyone who worked at the hotel. Now, this certainly violates my hotel's policy for multiple reasons. I went ahead and contacted the host and she claimed to work for the corporation that owns Holiday Inn (We're franchised) and threatened to get me in "trouble" She was clearly pulling a scam and had several hotels listed. She was using a pseudonym as there were no guests under her registered name, meaning she never had the room which she was claiming to sell. I reported her to AirBnB and all of her listings were taken down. How common are scams like these?

Hello @Sasha40 There are quite a few reported here, in the forum, but we must realise it's just a drop in the ocean. Airbnb is growing and it will attract more and more opportunists.
