nights calculation

Hello everybody,

hope I can receive some explanation about this strange rate calculation?!

calculation

Mathematics is not an opinion!

AirBnb is taking a commission for providing the platform of course and everybody is happy with that, but also this €1 extra seems unfair, it is not a life changing amount but they do that for every reservation I've received and I guess is the same for every host that is making business with AirBnb.

Does anyone have an answer for that?

Thank you very much.

Francesco

Airbnb round up/down numbers in currency conversion.

Check out the currency rates (EU and USD) for the night of the reservations, it's possible Airbnb rounded down.

Except this isn't currency conversion is it? It's adding 35 euros 4 times. There's no currency conversion anywhere.

No offence but this is simply a way for Airbnb to get more money. I'm sure it happens to every single user and amounts to a lot of extra money. I'd rather they just increased the fee; I too find this irritating.

It is a conversion, Airbnb uses USD as base.  If not, it's extremely sloppy and easily challenged.

I think the weird math you see is because it is not really a multiplication in Euros it is a conversion from USDollar round down multiplication to a Euro amount done via some basic software that has not been programmed to accept decimal places.

Plus currency fluctuation.

I am getting the same issue and it is very confusing. My room is priced in pounds, the person booking the room is paying in pounds, he booked 2 separate weeks for the same number of nights per week and one is showing as £144 and the other is showing as £146. He made both the reservations on the same day within 2 minutes of each other. All my bookings seem to have these strange calculations, hopefully I'll win some and lose some but it'll even out after a few bookings.

Hi. I have the same problem, 2 nights at £35  = £69 less £2 service = £67

An explanation would be good
