left items at hosts accomodation

I left my kindle at a place of accomodation while in Tenerife.

I have asked the host kindly to return the item and to bill me for the expense. Initially she said she would but 2 months have passed now and they are not responding to any of my messages. I guess it easy to ignore me now reviews have been left etc. 

If this was a decent hotel or resort they would return the item promptly. 

Any advice would be appreciated.

@Oliver138 If you contacted the host through Airbnb messaging and they agreed to return your property through messaging, I would contact Airbnb to get involved, as the host hey have acknowledged they have it but are refusing to return it. You may have left it a bit late, but Airbnb may still help you out.
