@Magdy0 Just want to let you know something I learned from Airbnb the other day. We too have decided to rent longer term typically traveling medical personnel and business people with the occasional temporary housing for emergencies (via insurance/adjuster companies). Our last guest (traveling medical) is leaving and when I went back on to Airbnb I noticed that my place no longer came up in a general search (no filters). When I questioned Airbnb I was first told it did come up and it was first but later learned it was only when some used the filter of dates. I questioned it again when I still could not find it in a filter free search only to learn the following:
"My name is Andrei and I am a Support Specialist here at Airbnb.
I am sorry that you have encountered issues with our search system
and I will be able to assist you. I have been able to identify your
listing myself by searching with the date filter on.
The reason for which your listing is not showing on a general
search is due to your long Minimum Stay Period selected.
I can see that you have set a period of minimum 28 nights.
Generally, our website is used for vacation stays
(between 4 and 10 nights) and your listing is set up for
long-term stays only.
I do understand how this might seem confusing and
I wish I could change this feature for you, but this is a
feature set in place in order to make our guests'
experience a bit more user-friendly.
Please let me know if this answers your question or
if you have any additional questions as I will be more
than happy to assist."
What I don't understand is why this only just happy 3 days ago. We are now weaning out of Airbnb and moving to temp. housing websites which are better suited to long term. Although through Airbnb I have recieved over 10 (over 2-3 month) guests, BUT they feel I don't deserve to be on their search since they say
"Generally, our website is used for vacation stays (between 4 and 10 nights) and your listing is set up for
long-term stays only."
So just a heads up of what can happen when you decide to welcome the longer term guests and set your minimum above 10 days.
