Whether to not reccomend a renter or to contact them directly and discuss a problem that occurred du

Recently we have a had some renters who have left our home in good order but have obviously

smoked in our non-smoking rental. This has put us in an awkward position as we have new renters

arriving in two days. Our cleaners are doing their best to air out the house. However we could have

had renters coming that same day. That would be an embarassment. I don.t know whether to give

these people a bad review and not recommend them as guests or reccomend them with a warning

attached. Has any body got any suggestions?

Easy, the truth will set you free:

"'Guestname' was courteous and left our place in good order but smoked in our non-smoking rental. I would not host them again."

Give them a thumbs down for breaking a major house rule. You cannot let them do this to another host, an honest review is paramount. No need to discuss with them or they will just have a heads up that there was a problem and may leave a bad review anticipating your negative review.

^^ YES.
