Strict Cancellation Policy and Changing Length of Stay

Hey Airbnb friends,

We have guests who booked this Friday-Tuesday. They have since informed us that they actually would only need the place through Sunday. We have  a strict policy, but also don't want to upset guests a few days in advance of them staying in our home. Anyone have helpful suggestions?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi @Aaron_Erin0,

Are you alright with changing the dates?  If so, you can alter the reservation and change the dates for them.  They will then accept the alteration.  It would not be a cancellation as they are not cancelling.

Here is a Help Guide which shows you how to alter a reservation: https://community.airbnb.com/t5/General-Hosting/Change-Price-Number-of-Guests-Check-in-or-Check-out-...

If you cannot accommodate, the guest will have to live with the dates they reserved or cancel the reservation.  Either way, you will get paid for the full booking since the booking is less than 7 days.

Keep your strict policy, but let these folks stay if you're feeling uncomfortable with canceling.  No one else will know, and your policy is still intact.  --  Chuck, Kelseyville, CA
