Proposed Ban on Short Term Rentals - Burke County NC

Hi Airbnb hosts, I manage a vacation rental through Airbnb in Burke County, NC. I was just recently made aware that Burke County is considering a ban or restriction on vacation or short term rentals. I know that there are many vacation rentals in Burke County due to the lovely location against the NC mountains. This would have a huge impact on our property as it is used exclusively for vacation rental. We have been told that the county will have a meeting in the next month give or take a week. Please be looking for the meeting notice in the paper or call the burke county planning department for information. All hosts will need to get involved and plan on attending this meeting if you want your voice to be heard otherwise you may loose your ability to rent out your property.
