How to Alter a reservation after the time period to change reservation has passed?

Is there a way I can change the reservation if the guest has been delayed by one day.  For example, my guest booked earlier today, but has now been delayed one day and can no longer make the first night?  I get a message saying "Sorry, that change is invalid. Reservation has already started. You cannot alter this reservation’s start date."  Is there any way to override this?

After the date has past, you can't alter the start date. And many hosts would say you shouldn't have to since he prevented your from booking with another guest that night otherwise.

That said, the decision is really up to each host. The way you can refund them the difference would be to alter the reservation price even though the dates won't change.
