Hosting in Thailand

Are hosts in Bangkok / Thailand in general required to notify Thai immigration of their guest/s
( especially if they are staying for more than 24 hours)

Yes they are required to register theirself. Usually a hotel does that for them, in your case they would have to stop by the local office or file back a thail template.
