Host trying to charge more money

Paid in full for 6 nights. Now host as altered price for an extra $400. We do not want to pay this or stay with this host any longer. What do we do.

Decline the increase requested. DO NOT CANCEL or you will pay penalties and host gets off free and clear. The host must cancel and AirBnB should give you a 10% credit to a new booking once the host cancels.

Did the host say why they were requesting extra money?  Was it perhaps because your original booking was for a smaller number of guests than the number actually travelling, and therefore the cost of the booking has increased to cover the published extra guest fee?  If that's the case, then the host has done nothing wrong and the guest's choices are to pay the additional amount owed, cancel the booking or reduce the number of guests in the travelling party to the number included on the original booking.

@Alejandro335 if the host is just increasing the price, you do not have to agree to it.

The host is obligated to provide you with accommodations at the agree-upon price. If you do not agree to the price increase, then the host must either allow you to stay for the original price, or the host can cancel the booking (with penalties for the host).

If you want to, you can contact Airbnb support and explain what is going on. They can help guide the process, and find you a new place to stay if needed.
