Guest wants to check out earlier

Hi,

 

I have a guest who booked for 5 days and wants to leave after 3. I agreed to refund him for remaining two nights but i'm not sure what is the best way to do it.

Airbnb extranet is not allowing me to change the check out date for today (he just told me he is leaving). Should I go to resolution center and offer him the difference or should I give him cash (since it was weekend the payment is not yet visible on my account) and how can i be sure he won't say later he never received any money?.

Definitely do not give him cash.  Go to the Resolution Center and refund the amount you agreed to with the guest.  

I totally agree with the above statement...do not give him cash.

@Maja7, never refund cash. Ask the guest to cancel the remainder of his visit. The reason for wanting to leave is his problem, not yours. You have a moderate cancellation policy in place, so your guest is entitled only to 50% of the cost of the remaining nights. 

 

"If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent 24 hours after the cancellation occurs are 50% refunded."

 

You can offer to refund the AirBnB service fee via the resolution center.
