What is your cancellation policy? Did they give a reason?

Looks like you have a flexible cancellation policy, so guest doesn't have to give any reason. They will only have to pay for one day stay after cancelling.

If you are unhappy with that, change the cancellation policy! At least moderate. Flexible is, well, very flexible!

I suggest having a strict cancellation policy. You would be paid in full.
