Airbnb left house unlocked and house burgled (there was a theft)

House was burgled while guest was asleep. Who is responsible?

@Robin109 - you need to make sure you've filed a police report right now.  They will do an investigation and determine fault.  Ultimately, you and your homeowners insurance writer will need to be responsible.  If you read the terms and conditions, Airbnb's policy covers for third-party claims - meaning the claims your guest can sue you for while on your property.  Addtionally, Airbnb will assign an officer from their Trust and Security division to investigate the claim as well.  If you haven't read about how to process a claim against Airbnb insurance, you need to look that up right now.  You also need to contact Airbnb right now.  You need to contact your own insurance agent right now.  The legal proceedings will come primarily between those entities.  Please read all the details, because you are not entitled to sue the tenant directly for damages - you are bound to arbitration with Airbnb.  Before you start assigning blame, contact the right people.
