Host cancelled on short notice because of property being up for sale, yet remains available?

Hi all,

With  less than a month to go until a trip for a multi-day event, our host cancelled, with the reason that the property is going up for sale.

However, the property remains available on Airbnb, apparently with lots of availability, with only one of the nights of our trip being unavailable.

Needless to say, there is nothing else available nearby, and the venue is a 6-hour drive (one way) from our home.

What's typically done in a situation like this?

Thanks

Depending on the cancellation policy i believe the host needs to put up extra money on top of the refund and Airbnb will assist you in finding other accommodation is that not the case?

@Jean-Francois-GemStay0 For a host cancellation the listing cancellation policy is irrelevant.

@Andrew3433 As long as you didn't cancel then what should have happened was that the host would be fined and the dates blocked in their calendar. It sounds like this hasn't happened though. What should happen next is that under the guest's version of Aircover Airbnb should find you replacement accommodation. Sadly Aircover for guest's is cleverly written as it says they will find you replacement accommodation or refund your money. This makes it worthless as a refund is required by law.
