See guide via the link - https://www.airbnb.co.uk/help/article/484/what-is-instant-book

If you are still unable to turn it off, then it is possible that you are one of the select new host from whom the option to disable IB has been removed. Airbnb are experimenting with the possibility of compulsory booking and some new host have been chosen at random who can only list their properties on IB.

Al the best,

Hi @Janet0,

Airbnb new rules makes IB compulsory for many new listings/hosts as part of an insane "experiment". Have a look on this thread for more information:

There has been a lot of discussion in these forums about Instant Book!  I personally would never use it, and would 'snooze' my listing if it was imposed on me - ie, still take the guests booked in but not take any more via IB.  Many of us have complained to Airbnb about IB being imposed on hosts against their will, and you can too, via the feedback page.

Here is the link: https://www.airbnb.com/help/feedback

IB works well for some hosts but not for others, especially if it is a private bedroom in your own house, or an apartment/house where you want the guests to already have good reviews or chat to them first.

Many thanks for the advice - I have sent a complaint to Airbnb too - but I wonder if they have amended their t&c to allow this?  Will try and have a look later.

I agree this policy is really bad for hosts, but one way around it (if available to you) is to add a co-host who has hosted other listings in the past. He or she will be able to remove this feature. Really hoping this capability gets added for new hosts soon, or I will likely switch platforms.
