Hi there,

My guests reservation was cancelled by Airbnb with no explanation! Just wondering what could be the reason? Are all guests required to do and ID verification? or background check? That's all I can think of or compromised account?

Sounds like there was a problem with their payment or it was a fraudulent booking. However this is a forum for hosts - only Airbnb can tell you why.

Guests only need verified ID if that is the requirement you see for your listing.

BNB don't do background checks - not practical.

Have a look at their help section - it will explain how you set for verified ID and lots of other useful information.

AirBnB can also cancel under extentuating circumstances for a guest and they do not need to tell you why as that may be quite personal information.
