False Site Bounty (FSB)

Dear Brian CEO & HOC

Comment:

In the software industry, its normal practise to pay a bounty to engineers who find errors in computer code (bugs, not to be confused with the other sort of bedbugs that are now appearing on the Airbnb site), even the mighty Apple have started doing it!

Suggestion:

That Airbnb put in place such a bounty to tract down and eliminate fraudulent hosting’s and swindles.

Issues:

What’s to stop people finding the fraudulent sites they set up and claim the bounty, publicity for one thing and the fact that these sites could be traced back to them quite easily.

Cost:

I’d say that this would cost Airbnb $3,000,000 to implement but think of the goodwill and publicity it would generate and it fits into Airbnb’s model of contractors.

3,000,000 sites

1% fraudulent?

$100 bounty per site

The geniuses can do the refined calculation….

Thank for getting the ball rolling, but as you can see the idea is getting no traction.

I have seen in the last 7 day at least two other posting regarding false sites why are they not making a contribution to this post?

Regards

Cormac

This fraudulent listing has been up for ages in spite of being repeatedly reported & written about in a news article on consumer fraud. Not kidding.
