My YouTube link is a two and a half minute story of why I started hosting on AirBnB and how it has impacted others around the world. I'm also not a professional editor or producer so I hope it will be up to the contest standards.
Thank you AirBnB for allowing me to follow my passions, share opportunities with others around the world, meet amazing people from around the globe and open my home in a meaningful way. I've been inspired over and over by coming to the the AirBnB Opens and hearing what others are doing around the world. I hope my story will inspire others to open their homes and share bit of love, generosity, kindness, and belonging every step of the way. It sure has been an incredible journey for my partner and I. I'm grateful for this opportunity to be a part of the #AO2015contest.
I'm a basketball coach/consultant for secondary and collegiate basketball programs. I started a business called COMETRY, which blends stand up comedy (me) and performance poetry (my business partner) into an educational program designed to teach young people about leadership and diversity through laughter. We have presented all over North America in the last 5 years. I lead groups (coaches, business leaders, entrepreneurs, college athletes, and all around impactful, loving people) of different faiths, belief sets, economic levels, generations, and nationalities on a cultural and individual growth experience in Africa each March. Lastly, I started something called Sustainable Giving Homes, which uses the profits from my real estate in Austin, TX to sustainably fund educational opportunities across Africa.
