It depends on the value of the accomodation (interior) and what damage could possibly happen.

For a whole house it is offcourse different situation then for 1 room.

The security deposit is not charged to the guest at time of booking, but sits in the background until a claim shows up. Look at similar listings what other hosts has put in, the amount (if any) are mentioned  under section "houserules" in a listing.
