Mutual cancellation, later host refuses to refund

We booked a room at Saint Raphael near Nice France, without knowing to be much difficult to reach without own car. Host gave the direction and timeline to reach at aoarapart later would not be allowed. We apologised and ask for cancellation, as our arrival was late. The host Caroline agreed on cancellation and we cancllcan the booking. Later at the time of refund, she ignored 10 messages and refused to refund. We wrote what happened at the review section, she suddenly replied and asked to delete the review. Airbnb intervened, and deleted our comment by saying its inappropriate. Technically, affects their business... Should we call it monopoly?

@Muneer1   It's not clear from your description that you're entitled to an exemption from the host's cancellation policy. If the property's location is displayed accurately on the map, and the host's check-in time window was disclosed in the listing, then you had all the information you needed in order to determine before booking whether it was suitable. (On Airbnb you can also ask the host questions before booking if you're unsure).

However, if you booked based on incorrect information and the property was not where the host said it was, you would have a "travel issue" under the guest refund policy.

Airbnb doesn't tend to remove negative reviews from guests, even when they're clearly retaliatory in nature. Did you read the Content Policy before submitting yours?
