Is this a red flag for a potential scam?

Is this a red flag for a potential scam?

Hi there,

I'm new to hosting. There's a gal who is requesting to book a week in March. Her profile does not have any info about herself, only lists her name in intitials, but does have email and phone verification. We do not have a deposit on our room because it is a private room, and I feel $95 is too high for a $55 room(may keep people from booking). Thinking of asking her to either get a reference or something. Advice is welcome!

Thanks

@Forrest-And-Lizzie0 Don't confuse a Security Deposit for a reservation deposit as the latter doesn't exist on Airbnb.  Security Deposits are only there in the event there is damage.  With regards to your guest's verification, you can always request that they provide more info on their profile before you will accept a reservation from them.  The lack of Verified Id is not necessarily an indication that they are not good people, but many hosts require Verified ID before anyone makes a reservation request.  To require Verified ID, go to Manage Listing and to the left will be Reservation Requirements.  Click on that and you will have the option to require Verified ID which is much more than an email and phone number.  Hope this helps!
