Hawaii Taxes, host is asking me to pay in cash

Hi, I am staying in Hawaii soon and the host is asking me to collect the taxes in cash, 14.25%. 
It feels a bit weird since that has never happened before and usually AirBnB already collects those taxes 

Can I refuse to pay in cash? 

What should I do?

Host must have mentioned in the listing taxes will be collected, also at which amount or percentage.

The host can charge you the taxes via the resolution centre, but can also collect them direcly (for example in  cash)  upon check-in:
