I booked a trip using travel credit and the trip was cancelled

The host couldn't accommodate my check in time, hence he asked me to cancel the trip and I did. Now I want to look for another place, but how can I get my travel credit back for my new booking?

When did this happen? Takes some time to process a credit.

@Alison342  It's my understanding that once a travel credit is used it does not get reissued if you cancel. If the host canceled you can request AirBnB to issue a new one, but it doesn't always happen. Try calling:

Here's his problem - and he'll need screenshots of his inbox just in case. The host asked "him" to cancel. that meant the host didn't want to take the hit for the cancellation, and in this case, the guest is penalized.

Have Airbnb review the communication to make it clear the host initiated the request for the guest to cancel. That should make it easier to get the travel credit returned.
