Co-host received money in error

Ok  I did something wrong.  Can you tell me what I need to do to fix it.

I have a co-host.  But I only want her to co-host when I"m not around.

Guest stayed at my place yesterday.  Cohost got paid.

1) how do I get the $13 paid the cohost back?

2) how do I make sure that she's only paid when I'm not around?  (will happen 2x a year)

Thanks much

Maria

You should just ask your cohost for the money back they were paid in error.   You need to follow the options for paying a cohost if you only want to pay them occassionally. https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1537/how-do-i-pay-my-co-host

Thank you.   But won't she be paying taxes on the money?  i.e. get a 1099 from AirBnB?

Seems like i need to get to airbnb to get me the money back.

The instructions on the AirBnb page aren't correct.

Go into each of your properties.  https://www.airbnb.com/manage-listing/

Then Management Then Cohost

Then click on or off the information you need to change.

LOL I guess you are new around here. 🙂 If you are worried that she is going to have to pay taxes, just ask her to give you $12 and keep $1 to cover the taxes. If you do not want this to happen in the future just update your payout preferences under account>payout routing rules.

You might even want to consider deleting the cohost information and re-adding it as needed. I had a co-host and because AirBnB merged the messages it got to confusing so we decided to delete it.

I'm just a tax preparer and former accounting manager, who wants to keep everything above board.

I can't delete my co-host as she's not very computer literate and I had to help her set up her account.
