Rental classsification

Hello All,

 

We have converted our garage into a 1 bed flat. It has its own entrance and also has an entrance to our garden. Therefore, it has a relationship with the main house. The council have said we cannot use it as a holiday let. However, we thought that if it was part of our residential property, we could use it for airbnb guests. Could anyone advise me of the status of it. Is it officially a holiday let? Thank you.

Is that because they're saying you need planning permission for commercial use @Victoria2154 which you don't have? 

 

if so they maybe correct.
